EXAM CALENDAR - NEXT PASS-FAIL ("IDONEITA'") and "LETTORATO" EXAMS

EXAM SESSION CALENDAR

The September 2021 exams will be held online.

 

  • German Language I “Lettorato” (preparatory exam)*:Monday August 30th   2021, 10:00 a.m.
  • A2 level German exam (pass-fail, cod. L99968): Thursday September 23rd 2021, 10:00 a.m.
  • B1 level German exam (pass-fail, cod. L99967): Thursday September 23rd 2021, 10:00 a.m.
  • B2 level German exam (pass-fail, cod. L99966): Thursday September 23rd 2021,  3:00 p.m.
  • C1 level German exam (pass-fail, cod. L99965):  Thursday September 23rd 2021,  3:00 p.m.

 

You must have a tablet or pc with a reliable internet connection, and a smartphone with Gmeet for monitoring. Make sure that the battery is fully charged.

 

Students should also present a valid ID, and have a hardcopy dictionary for the written component, (composition).

 

Those students who seek validation of an international certificate (Goethe Institut, TELC, Österreichisches Sprachdiplom Deutsch ÖSD, ) are requested to a) register for the exam, b) send a scanned copy of the original certificate to Katharina Gemperle, at: gemperle@unisi.it by the exam deadline.

Registration for all exams must be done through this page with UNISI username e password by August 27th  for the extra session of the German Language 1 exam (“lettorato”), by September 20thfor the September 23rd session.

*Enrolment for the German Language I exam should be done through the Segreteria studenti on line

GERMAN COURSES

German language courses are OPEN TO ALL STUDENTS enrolled in the University of Siena.

 

PLEASE NOTE THAT STUDENTS MUST HAVE A MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE OF ITALIAN IN ORDER TO ATTEND A GERMAN BEGINNERS' COURSE.

 

The following German language courses are held at the San Niccolò Campus on Via Roma, 56 (Porta Romana):

All of Katharina Gemperle’s courses are blended courses: lessons in the classroom are integrated with self-study on the Moodle platform.

ANNUAL A1 and A2 COURSE for BEGINNERS divided into two semesters.

The course is for:

- students from the DFCLAM department who need to pass the GERMAN LANGUAGE I exam. The German Language I (“Lettorato”) consists of an annual course divided into two semestral courses: A1 in the first semester and A2 in the second semester. The A2 level is required in order to be admitted to the German Language I exam. The exam at the end of the second semster, in fact, is preparatory for the professor’s language exam. Alternatively, students can present a internationally recognized certificate (see list at the bottom of this page)  Please note: if you have any questions regarding the German Language Single Subject course (“CORSO MONOGRAFICO”) contact the PROFESSOR or visit the department website

- students that choose A2 LEVEL GERMAN LANGUAGE ("IDONEITA') - exam code L99968

- students who are interested in learning the fundmentals of the language without inserting the exam in their curriculum. They will be awarded a certificate from the CLA (see below).

 

A1 course and GERMAN LANGUAGE I course (“Lettorato”) : 1st part – First semester (October 2021 to end of January 2022) – Lessons will begin on October 4th.

A prerequisite to the course is a basic knowledge of German at A2 level (see program below)

A prerequisite to the course is a B1 level on German (see program below)

EXAMS, CREDITS, AND CERTIFICATES

Students who are not awarded credits for a German language exam and who attend at least 70% of the course and pass the final test, will receive a certificate.

The certificate issued by the Language Center is not an external certification. Nevertheless, our lessons follow the European Framework of Reference for Languages. Students interested in obtaining an external certificate can sit the exam at the GOETHE INSTITUT of Rome or at an institution which collaborates with the Goethe Institut, for example, the Deutsches Institut of Florence.

 

APPROVAL OF INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATES OF THE GERMAN LANGUAGE BY THE UNIVERSITY LANGUAGE CENTER:

- TELC

Please contact our German teacher during her office hours for certification approval. You should bring the original certificate with a photocopy (front and back), and a valid ID with photocopy.
