French courses are held in the San Niccolò building, Via  Roma 56 (Porta Romana)

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

 

Our French language courses start on 2nd October and allow you to:

  • take a French language “idoneità” (pass-fail) exam at A2 (L99988), B1 (L99987), B2 (L99986) and C1 (L99985) levels
  • take a FRENCH LANGUAGE I (“Lettorato”) exam (DFCLAM, cod.102884) after attending the LETTORATO DI LINGUA FRANCESE I course and passing the written and oral exams
  • obtain EXTRA CREDITS or CLA ATTENDANCE CERTIFICATE

 

The DELF certification and ESABAC diploma are approved by us if issued within three years of your enrolment in the University of Siena.

If you have been awarded one of these, you should upload a copy of your certificate (in PDF, JPG or PING format) on our platform through this link and wait for a response.

 

Exam Sessions for Academic Year 2026/27

SUMMER SESSION 2025/2026

 

A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2 FRENCH LANGUAGE EXAM (Idoneità) and FRENCH LANGUAGE 1 (LETTORATO)

All exams consist of a written and an oral test, and will be held onsite at Presidio San Niccolò (Via Roma 56) with the following calendar:

 

 

Exam session reserved for attending students only:

  • Friday, 29 May 2026, 09:00 a.m. - classroom B (Padiglione Esterno San Niccolò)

 

Exam session open to all students:

  • Monday, 8 June 2026, 09:00 a.m. - classroom 468 (4th floor, San Niccolò)
  • Friday, 3 July 2026, 09:00 a.m. - classroom 450 (4th floor, San Niccolò)
  • Wednesday, 11 September 2026, 10:00 a.m. - classroom 356 (3rd floor, San Niccolò)

 

 

Enrolment: You can register for the exam from this page  with your UNISI username and password.

For the written composition sections of level B2, C1 and C2, please bring a monolingual paper dictionary.

For the programmes and contents of the exams, see the attachments at the bottom of this section, divided by level.

Please also note that candidates should bring with them a valid ID with photo to the exam.

French Language Courses - Academic year 2026/27

Annual French Language 1 (Lettorato) Course for the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures (DFCLAM) and Language Proficiency Examinations A2–B1–B2–C1 (Idoneità) Courses – Dr L. Izzi

 

 

Preparatory annual language course for French Language 1 (Lettorato Lingua Francese I, code 102884) - B1 Level Proficiency (Idoneità B1, code L99987) – A2 Level Proficiency (Idoneità A2, code L99988): from October 2, 2026 to May 15, 2027

The annual course is also aimed at students who have never studied the language. The first part of the French Language I/B1 proficiency course allows students to reach an A2 level, with a final assessment at the end of January 2027.

  • Monday: 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m., room 450
  • Wednesday: time and format to be arranged
  • Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., room 401

 

French Language B2 Proficiency (L99986): 100 hours, from October 2, 2026 to May 15, 2027

  • Monday: 2:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., room 447
  • Friday: 10:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., room 456

 

French Language C1 Proficiency (L99985): 100 hours, from October 2, 2026 to May 15, 2027

  • Monday: 4:15 p.m. – 5:45 p.m., room 456
  • Friday: 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m., room 447
